Sportsbook – What is Handicap?

A handicap bet levels the playing field between the favorite and the underdog by adding or subtracting points from the final score. This way, both teams or players have a fair chance in the betting market.

  • Favorite: The team or player expected to win.
  • Underdog: The team or player expected to lose.

How It Works

  1. Handicap: Points are given or taken away to balance the odds.
    • For Example: If Team A is playing against Team B and Team A is the underdog, the bookmaker might set a handicap line of +1.25 for Team A.
  2. Betting on the Underdog: If you bet on Team A (+1.25), you win if Team A loses by 1 goal or less, or if Team A wins or draws the game.
  3. Betting on the Favorite: If you bet on Team B, you win if Team B wins by more than 1.25 goals.

Sportsbook – What is Outright?

“Outright” betting involves placing a wager on the overall winner of a tournament, league, or competition, rather than individual matches or events within it. This type of bet focuses on predicting the final outcome of the entire competition.

Examples include:

  • The final outcome of a major tournament, like the Cricket World Cup.
  • The final outcome of a preliminary round, such as the group winner in the World Cup.

Sportsbook – What is 1X2?

1X2 is a popular betting notation used mainly in football (soccer) betting. It represents the three possible outcomes of a match:

  • Home Win (1): Betting on “1” means you predict the home team will win. If the home team wins, your bet is successful.
  • Draw (X): Betting on “X” means you predict the match will end in a draw. Your bet wins if the match ends without a winner after regular time.
  • Away Win (2): Betting on “2” means you predict the away team will win. If the away team wins, your bet is successful.

* This simple betting format is widely used and understood, making it a staple in sports betting.

Sportsbook – What is Cash Out?

“Cash out” is a feature in betting that lets users close their bets before an event ends. This allows you to either secure some profit or reduce losses. Here’s how to use it:

  1. Only matches with the “Cash Out” icon can use this feature.
  2. Go to the “Statement” section and check the box to view all eligible tickets across different matches.
  3. Each ticket will show a “Cash Out” button and the cash-out amount.
  4. Use the slider or enter the amount directly to cash out. The minimum partial cash out is 20% of the original bet.
  5. Click the “Cash Out” button and confirm. The system will process your cash out immediately.

Important Notes:

  • Cash out is not available for parlays, multiple betting options, or bonus bets.
  • Each bet can only be cashed out once.

* This feature gives you more control and flexibility, letting you make strategic decisions during the event.

If an event is suspended or abandoned, will the bet be cancelled?

If a match is suspended, abandoned, or postponed and does not resume within 48 hours of the official start time, the result is considered void, and bets will be canceled unless stated otherwise in the Rules & Regulations. However, certain markets that are unconditionally determined will be settled according to the specified procedures in the Rules & Regulations. The decision to cancel bets under these circumstances is final, regardless of any official decisions by the event referee or relevant governing authority.

For ‘Parlays,’ the overall bet remains valid, but the specific selection within the parlay affected by the voided event will be considered void. The payout formula for that particular selection will be calculated as (1).

What happens if I disconnect from the internet while placing my bets?

If your bets are successfully placed, they will stay active even if you lose your internet connection. Once you reconnect, you can check event results on the Results page and review your bet results in the My Account section for Exchange Betting or the Statement section for Sportsbook Betting.

If a bet fails due to a lost internet connection, your balance will not be deducted. After reconnecting, simply log back in to continue without any deductions. If you’re unsure whether your bet was successfully placed, you can always review your betting activity in the My Account section for Exchange Betting or the Statements section for Sportsbook Betting. This ensures you remain informed about your bets and maintains transparency in your betting history.

What is the difference between Bookmaker & Betting Exchange?

When betting with a bookmaker, you’re betting against the bookmaker itself, not other players. The bookmaker sets the odds and takes on the risk. For example, at BetJili, you bet against BetJili’s offered odds, and they bear the risk of payout.

A betting exchange on the hand operates on a peer-to-peer basis, offering more competitive odds due to market supply and demand dynamics. It matches bets from different players, allowing you to bet against one or more people. This system often results in higher odds compared to traditional bookmakers. However, betting exchanges charge a commission on your net winnings for each market, which is a key difference from the traditional bookmaker model.

What does the terms “Back” and “Lay” betting in Betting Exchange mean?

In sports betting, “back” bets are shown in blue, while “lay” bets are shown in pink.

  • Back Bet: You bet that an outcome will happen. For example, betting on a team to win.
  • Lay Bet: You bet against an outcome. You act like the bookmaker. If the outcome happens, you lose your bet. If it doesn’t happen, you win and the backer gets their stake back.

Liability is the amount you might have to pay if you lose a lay bet.

Imagine you’re a bookmaker. If the bet wins, you pay the winnings. If it loses, you keep the backer’s bet. Your liability is the amount you might need to pay out if the bet loses.

Here’s how to place a lay bet:

  1. Choose a Market: Pick the market you want to bet on.
  2. Select an Option: Click on “Best Price/Odds” for your choice.
  3. Enter the Amount: Let’s say you lay a bet at odds of 2.70 with a stake of 100. Your liability will be रु170.

Example:

  • Potential Profit: रु100
  • Potential Loss: रु170

If the team wins, you pay रु170 to the winner and lose your रु100 stake, but if the team loses, you win रु100 minus the betting exchange commission.

Note: BetJili charges a commission fee on net winnings from each market.

What is a Fancy Bet?

Fancy bets are special betting markets for cricket matches on BetJili. They are customized and do not affect the overall betting liquidity of the exchange.

What Are Fancy Bets?
